Encouraging my leopard Gecko to be more active

My leopard gecko just doesn't seem to be very active. Maybe it's normal but he has everything that he could possibly need in his vivarium, a moist hide, water climbing bark a massive area to sleep under that has a warm and a cool end, 12 hours light and 12 hours dark the temp is right the humidity is right he is eating well and has just shed fully with no bits left on him.
Has anyone got any suggestions or is it normal.
It just seems as if he never comes out to explore or get any exercise. I handle hi daily and he moves around a lot then and he has no trouble catching crickets.
Anyone- any suggestions will be gladly welcomed.:banana:

How warm is the floor on the warm side? Some people have found that warmer floor and air leads to more active gecko. Some geckos are lazy.

some geckos are just like that. what time of day are you talking about because geckos are less active during the day and they are more active at night. what are the temps and how old is he?

It can be a reaction on the outside day length... Some of my geckos are in "hibernation", but the temperature is still high...

One of my leopard geckos did the same thing. But when I turned off the light and used a phone to watch them, he was very active. So if the gecko stays under the log all day it will be much more active at night.

Well that is certainly reassuring.
I have got him in the front room and I watch TV at night do you think that it might have something to do with that.

well the tv is just normal. It is the other side of the room so I can't see it disturbing him that much. I wonder if putting a blanket over the viv at night might be a step too far, I don't like the thought of it but if it makes him happy!!
:yikes:
