Rhac Rack

I just finished my new Rhac Rack and got all the geckos moved in tonight. It's birch stained with a 2 part stain that could best be described as an antiqued walnut with a semi gloss varnish over top. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

It perfectly houses 9 Exo-Terra or ZooMed 18x18x18 vivs and is fully wired with lights and a timer.

Right now it's home to 3.4 ciliatus, 2.2 sarasinorum, 2.2 auriculatus and 1.1 chahoua. Enjoy

it came out very nice

Its a great solution for lighting and heating this type of terrariums (with screen tops)

Now its time to get started on another one ;)

I know! I built this one to hold all of my 18x18x18 tanks. Luckily the 12x12x12 and 12x12x18 tanks fit pretty well in a conventional book shelf. I just couldn't find anything that fit an 18" deep tank and still was presentable in my apartment. Don't worry though, as I have 2 more matching racks in the works, as well as a few display vivs for my beardeds and lacertas.

that looks great I really like the stain you went with

For the stain I did a base stain of mahogany then did a top stain of ebony. When the ebony was applied it lifted some of the base stain out and gave me a wonderful multicolor effect that can't be replicated with a single stage. Twice the work, but it was well worth it.

I start on the matching Oedura rack next weekend.

thanks for the info, I need to frame out my utility shelving gecko rack with plywood so it looks as good as the cages on it but the rest of the furniture in the room has light stain on it so those color combos would be out of place for me. But again it looks great!
have a good one
