So I've never done anything like this before but decided to attempt to make my very own Leopard Gecko tank setup. I'm just going to start out small making a little hide however I plan to fill her entire tank with this type of custom, realistic setup! I've been researching this sort of thing for about a month of so however there are still some things I'm confused about.

I already have Polystyrene Insulation and have been began playing around with it and even carving a little bit however I'm going to Home-Depot tomorrow to purchase probably the rest of my materials and I'm just curious what people recommend :) I was thinking mixing in very fine Play Sand into brownish paint and using that for extra texture? Any thoughts?

I also do not know what sort of glue or adhesive would work best so I would love if someone helped me out with that!

I've seen many people talk about using Sealers and I'm not positive what it is or what it does :?

Any materials or products that your recommend could you please explain to me essentially what it does as I'm not too knowledgable with that sort of stuff :?
Any pictures of the exact products and materials would also be great!

Thank you so much! :)

Do not use an actual grout, mortar or cement, and seal it. As all 3 of those leak out very toxic chemical's. And in order to keep them safe, IF you used them, you would have to finish your project, and then soak the mortar, grout, ect in a vinegar and water mix for about 1 month. BUT Home depot Carrie's a product called CEG - Lite which is an Epoxy Grout which is non Toxic and safe once it has dried and cured, and it also never need's to be sealed, it come's in many different color's and has some sand in it but you can still sprinkle some on when you use it. It comes in a little bucket container. That would be the best thing to use. I'm also using it to create a Rock wall background for my Gekko Canaenis.
