Leopard gecko eye

He keep his eyes closed and they convulse. I had a vet a year ago and it has returned. I have been flushing his eyes with saline and it seems it's spreading to my other geckos. I'm not sure if it's a vitamin a deficiency. So I brought a mutli vitamin. I was wondering also how much should I dust the food with a mutli vitamin

Hi ~

Did this leo see a vet for this reason a year ago? What did the vet say?

Vitamin A acetate is very important for healthy eyes and skin for geckos. What multivitamin did you get?

I like Zoo Med's Reptivite with vitamin D3 and vitamin A acetate.

I brought that one on amazon it's cheaper. How much should I dust it. But every time this eye problem happens I realized there is always a white line or stripe in his eye

Can you tell me the part I put in boldface above in another way? Did your leo see a vet? What did the vet say about the eye? It is difficult to help without more information.

Eyes are very important! Any chance there is stuck shed? Does your leo have a moist hide 24/7?

How often do you feed your gecko(s)?

With Zoo Med's Reptivite with vitamin D3 lightly dust a few crickets at 2 feedings per week only. This is to say do not dust every cricket at each of two feedings per week.

So, for instance, if your gecko eats 4 crickets 3x per week, at only 2 of those feedings dust half (2) of the crickets.

He said it was probably a scratched cornea and he give me medcine for him. I have a tree hide with a bowl of moss in there for a moist hide

Thank you for this information :)

It is important to figure out why scratched corneas keep happening! Is the moss you have in the moist hide rough? Do you keep it moist 24/7?

Perhaps you might place squeezed out paper towels in the moist hide instead? Maybe there are twigs in the moss?

If rough moss was the cause, that should "fix" it.

Is there anything else sharp or rough in the tank that the leos might be rubbing up against when they shed?

Nothing sharp. It's the moss they sell at petsmart. There's nothing sharp in it but it does mold easily. I usually moist it when there shedding

Mold is not good, of course.

It is really best to keep the moss moist as close to 24/7 as you can. Leopard geckos use their moist hide for hydration as well as shedding.
