Hi there, I'm newish and I'm not sure how to add an album or even if I can, but I thought people might be interested in a documentation of tail regrowth, because when my gecko's tail dropped I was freaking out thinking she would get sick, or that it would grow back weird.
So I got Perdita on Jan. 12, not very long ago and she is a classroom pet in my 1st grade class. The kids absolutely love her, but since I was completely new with reptiles, I accidentally put down the log on the tip of her shedding tail and she dropped the end of it (I know, I know, I felt absolutely horrible and now I ALWAYS shoo her out of the way when I'm adjusting her favorite moist hide). I changed to paper towel substrate and put neosporin on her tail for the first couple of days, and she barely seemed to notice her tail drop since she was more preoccupied with getting her shed off.
Here is a picture timeline...
Day 0 (1/20/15):

As you can see, she was having a hard time getting her shed off. I felt so bad for the poor baby! Hard shed plus dropped tail x__x. I put her in a container with warm wet paper towels for a few minutes, followed by some neosporin so her tail wouldn't get infected.
Day 1 (1/21):

Done with her shed, now it's all about that tail.
Day 11 (1/31):

I was so excited when I started seeing this little triangle nub! In the videos I found online, it said it would take 2+ months for her tail to grow back all the way.
Day 15 (2/4):

The very faintest of spots appear! Again, I was excited! Her first spots! She wasn't going to have a weird all pink tail!
Day 17 (2/6):

Spots getting darker.
Day 20 (2/9):

Tail is acquiring a white-ish tinge. Hooray!
Day 24 (2/13):

Her tail is growing back beautifully and I can't wait to see what she looks like full grown!
That's it so far! I'll keep updating as it grows
