Where to Buy a Leopard Gecko?

Hey guys, does anyone know the best place to get a leo? I do not want to buy from a local pet shop so petsmart and petco are not on the list. Is online a good option? If so what are the best breeders? I will also be going to a reptile convention too.

I think buying at conventions/expos is a good idea. That way you know the breeder, and you can talk to them

I actually was lucky and found someone working at a pet shop, pet supplies plus, and they sold me their leo. He was in good health and always has been. It may of just been chance for me. Just be warned if you do something like that. Ask whoever you get your leo from questions about how they care for them. To name a few:

What substrate do you use?

How old is he/she?

Have you been dusting their food / what do you feed them?

And other questions about proper care, or what you seem fit.

Hope you have fun! I've been to two expos, and they are a great place to grab some egg cartons, bugs, and other cool stuff for your leo.

I got mine at a local shop (not a big box store) that deals only in rescues. They had a bunch of reptiles, all full grown and seemingly healthy. Mine had some health problems, but they didn't show up till I had her for a few weeks so who knows where it came from. And it's always nice to give an unwanted pet a home.

There is a reptile convention near me next week! But I think if I go, I'll come home with five new friends so I may stay away!
